Navigating our inner & outer worlds can feel bewildering, confusing and sometimes unbearable. I've emerged from many dark nights of the soul and have gathered valuable tools to encourage thriving while supporting the immense difficulty we can face being alive.
My intention is to embody a compassionate, grounding and restorative space, with occasional humour, that points you in the direction of your body wisdom and other accessible resources.
For as long as I can remember, I've been intuitively dancing and expressing myself creativity as a way to live fully and take the pressure off of being a highly-sensitive person.
I grew up loving cats, inspired by nature, doing gymnastics, playing piano, making dance routines, embracing theatre and creating mix-tapes & multi-media creations.
Becoming an Expressive Arts Therapist & Registered Therapeutic Counsellor has been a natural evolution and a passionate calling after 22 years as a massage therapist and bodyworker of traditional and evolutionary modalities. I was an RMT in Manitoba before moving to BC in 2001.
My personal journey with trauma recovery, grief and mental health navigation give me lived experience to draw from in this work. I'm a devotee to the creative spark, who lives and works on the unceded traditional territory of the Kwakwakaʼwakw people on what is also known as Malcolm Island, BC.
I've been facilitating movement for 22 years; first as a hatha yoga teacher, then Kundalini Dance Faciliator before creating Rewilding Dance, Plants & Dance Journeys & co-founding Dance Temple Cowichan. Expressive Arts Therapy offers a beautiful evolution into a more trauma-informed approach to guiding somatic movement.
I was born & raised, with my brother, in a musical family in Manitoba on the territory of the Métis Anishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ and Očeti Šakówiŋ (Sioux) nations. Music and humour were core languages in the culture of our home. My parents are Sandra & Garry Lindell with an ancestral background of Swedish, Cree, Scottish & English heritage.
I am a daughter, granddaughter, sister, mother, wife, and friend to humans, animals and plants. She/her are my pronouns.
I bow to the power of intuition and the Great Mystery we live in. I am dedicated to my family, friends, clients, plant allies, nature, music, dance, creativity & lots (& lots) of humour.
I intend to meet you where you are at with embodied presence, gentle curiosity & confidentiality. I gently carry a willingness to be with what is difficult and an inspiration to encourage you to live a nourished and well-resourced life. ☆
