Layers of Immunity

We are potent creators within these mysterious multi-dimensional threads of life. The media continues to remind us that there is no shortage of potential impending doom. The energy feels thick and heavy in moments as we face escalated uncertainty. A big wave has approached from our collective horizon and we are all riding it together in varying ways. Let’s face it, we are vulnerable yet immensely powerful creatures on a beautiful, bewildering planet. The wild story of Earth lives on.

This wave of COVID-19 requires that we use our tools to support our multiple layers of immunity. Fear impacts our body chemistry, immune system and ability to remember what is truly helpful. When our nervous systems are not regulated, we can lose our centres and fall into the abyss of overwhelm.

This year has been full-on for the collective to say the least! We are in pivoting times. It’s up to us to show up for ourselves and each other to regulate and digest all of this potent, shakin-it-up energy. The energy itself is the fear of death is it not? It’s the fear of losing loved ones or perhaps our own lives. It’s deep, primal and big.

Here are some questions that this COVID-19 situation seems to ask:-How do I feel about my own death?-How do I feel about the potential loss of loved ones?-How do I attend to my vulnerability?-How do I respond to fear in myself and others?-Do I bypass fear in myself or others as a way to avoid my vulnerability?-Who do I need to connect with?-What are my core priorities in life?-How can I help?-How do I cultivate courage and trust in the big picture?-How can my financial situation ride out some big potential economic shifts?-How do I feel about the authorities, social media, news sources, alternative media and access to updated information?-What are the tools to support me to resource my centre?-What world am I creating with my choices?-How can I find my eye in the centre of a storm to preserve energy & focus?

As usual, we continue to face a massive opportunity for evolution and growth. The immensity of emotional & mental processing that comes with facing the death of loved ones, sickness, interpersonal conflict, unprocessed trauma, the daily news, environmental loss and the financial dance can be nothing short of overwhelming!

Learning about the impact of many foods, electronic signals, wifi and technology on the optimal functioning of humans, animals and nature can also be quite disheartening. It was already a lot and now it feels like more.

Various stressors can leave many of us with cognitive dissonance as we live in humanity’s current chapter of endless change. As old paradigms are continually shed with the emergence of new ones, we are invited to up-level our energetic immunity so, together, we can carry the weight of our shared transitions.

We really are more powerful than we realize and being asked to strengthen in new ways as we face new challenges. Just like a muscle, our inner strength functions best when hydrated, flexible, and stable with the ability to relax. Inner strength & energetic immunity are also nourished when we cultivate grounded embodiment, creativity, connection, nervous system regulation and healthy boundaries.

In order to dance with what we collectively & personally face, I believe it’s crucial to up-level our immunity on all levels so we can attend to life in the healthiest way possible.

« Earth Element:*Physical immunity allows us to be resilient in the face of constant change, external stimuli and ongoing cellular transformation. Regulating and activating the physical body calms the mind and moves emotions.

*Financial immunity is tricky as we live in an unbalanced monetary system from a human rights perspective. Do we have the money to live through trying times without an income? What resources are accessible to me? How does my particular struggle or privilege affect the way I ride this wave? Where am I supported? How am I resourced financially? Who can I ask for help if I need to? Who can I help if I have extra to share?

« Air Element:*Mental immunity supports our minds to be consolidated in focus so we can attend to our core priorities and minimally leak energy on thoughts that aren’t serving us. Yes, easier said than done. This is a lifetime, moment by moment, breath by breath practice.

«Water Element:*Emotional immunity is about responding to new and unprocessed emotions effectively in ourselves and others. Emotions hide out in the body for later processing if we aren’t able to face them head-on in the moment. They can go “dormant” and steer our behaviours unknowingly. It takes energy to hold unfelt emotions and support can be needed to release these underlying wells of soul data from our bodies. The body is the key here as it regulates all of this. *Relational immunity can support us to have healthy boundaries with others like a permeable cell membrane allowing in nutrient rich connections and protection from relational toxins. What relationships fortify me? What relationships drain me?

«Spirit & Fire Elements:*Spiritual & Energetic immunity can allow us to hold an energetically sovereign space which supports the other immune layers.  Can I claim my energetic space as my own? How do I attend to my subtle whispers and intuitive insights?

• Deeply breathe fresh new energy into your core and exhale what needs to go. Breathe and feel into the truth of your experience to digest emotion and harness your power. Slow down.

• Ground and gather your threads of focus. Feel the weight of your body being held up by the ground. Imagine, sense or feel your roots anchoring you into your current location between earth and sky. Feel the support of the ground.

• Body Scan. Use your senses, one at time (look, listen, feel, smell, taste), to arrive in your present place and time. Focus your mind on feeling and noticing sensations in your body and breathing into them with curious, compassionate attention.

• Dance and shake it out. Gently shake your body from your feet to your jaw to your mind! Dancing and shaking opens energy pathways, releases rigidity and creates space for new movement inside and out. Literally, give your head a shake (gently! lol).

• Sound purge and sound it out. Gather what is rising within you and release a wild sound, song, cry, yell, moan or sigh. Explore the power of your wild voice with care.

• Use your senses to receive nature’s medicine while resetting your energy with the elements. Forming safe relationships with plants can support your natural intelligence, help to rewild your awareness and harmonize imbalances on all levels. Hang out with plants & animal friends .

• Get creative and express yourself into art, music, dancing, hiking, yoga, exercise or anything that supports your safe therapeutic expression.

• Reach in and out for support. Connect with a loved one or health professional if needed. Nurture yourself by getting lots of rest to integrate your experiences.

Signing off with the remembrance that we are greater than the sum of our parts.When in doubt, dance!
